"It's Personal."

If you have something you would like to tell or ask me, why not post a comment here? This thread is set for me to review comments before they appear. They're just between you and me. Well I might read them out loud and they could be overheard by my pets.

I would love if you would comment on my blog posts of course. But if you just want to leave a quick message about any and everything, please feel free...

I recommend everyone have a blog so that others can contact them.

Have a great day!

Critical Poetry Thoughts

Someone criticized my poetry,
He said he could not understand it
He said that it did not make sense
He said that it is kind of juvenile
As I make it like a conversation.

Oh really well let me tell you what I really think!
I don't really know why I write poetry this way.
I just began and it is hard to change.

This person suggested I need to add description
That I had to add visuals
That I had to describe the senses
That I had to let people feel for themselves
And not tell them only how I feel.

But like a zebra
If I were to be covered in white paint
Eventually the stripes would reappear
As the paint would fade.

Nature has many an animal that has spots
Supposedly they cannot change them
Should I count myself in their kingdom?
But I have many more facets as I am a human.

Oh then there is that lizard
Made famous by Boy George and Culture Club,
Come on and sing it!
I know you want to!
quot;Karma, Karma, Karma, Karma, Chameleon".
Its skin changes with its surroundings.
Oh were I that adaptable!
Perhaps some day I will be.

But now that I have vented,
Now that my pot has gone from boiling to simmering,
I will just tell myself in a soft whisper.
It is all good.
It is actually constructive criticism.
It is just an added piece of wisdom
To which I can pick at as I please.

I may one day write a poem with just imagery.
I may one day write a poem that does not voice,
the way I speak,
I may one day write a poem that does not rhyme at all.
Who would I be then?
Would I still be me?
Oh seriously,
I am not that dense
I am just going through the motions
Until this poem ends.

An Urgent Expedition. A Poem

Run to me my darling
Come to me
Wrap your arms around me
Gather me
In your warm embrace
Let us inhale
Each other's scent.

I am short
Compared to you
You will have to do
The bending
As I will be stretching
On my tippy toes
To have our lips
Meet and fasten
Beginning the passion
That we have been craving.

Murmurs and moans
An urgency acrues
Whatever shall we do?
Let our hands roam
Mapping sensation
What topography we encounter!
We are explorers!
We have a destination in mind
That like any worthwhile expedition
We enjoy the ride
Treasure and value what we find
Along with it's completion.

No wagers on who
Finishes first
For this endeavor
Is truly team oriented!

Rainchecks And Permits. A Poem

I wish I could
Jump at his offer
Let him shower
Me with attention.
Affection and sexual advances.
Let him fulfill his
And my fantasies.

But the time
Is not auspicious
He and I will have
To cool our jets
Take rainchecks
That hopefully
We exchange
For the real thing
When time permits.

Rainchecks and permits
It sounds so formal
In fact we have remained
In that realm
Let's hope it doesn't last
For too long.

His Hands A Poem

His hands were large
And they were strong
I felt like they could hold a lot
But could also be quite delicate.
At our first meeting I had to reach out
And hold them in mine.
It was a moment I will remember
A moment etched in my mind.
I don't think I have ever had such a reaction
Upon meeting a man,
It was definitely a unique occurrence.
Later on they did much more,
They felt the most intimate part of me.
And it felt magnificent.

If ever a set were defined as good,
His hands would be there in a picture.
And if ever I wished to be held forever,
I would want those hands holding me,
To be his.

It Was Not Mutual A Poem

I understand you have moved on.
I still think of what could have been
Call me a fool
But I once thought
So highly of you.
I thought we could do
And have something special
And real
But it was something only I
Must have thought
It was not mutual.

My last message
Went unanswered
I could send more text
But what would be the use?
You have found something
Or some else
To occupy you.
That is my guess.

Why do I fall into this trap
Time and time again?
Giving some guy
The benefit of the doubt
Making more motions
To get his attention
Only to fall short.

Onward to the next
So he is a destination?
I guess in my mind
I see and want to claim
A connection
To some unique
Not just another stop
On the road
Like a nondeript chain hotel.

Doing A 5K Walk With You. A Poem

Wouldn't it have been fun
To do do a 5 k walk?
Maybe someday even run?
Would you like to do one
There are a few coming up.

I like many aspects
The people
Sometimes pets
It's getting out
And being social
And it's for a charity
So there is that too.
It's healthy
On many fronts.

We can chat about
Any and everything
We can discuss the weather
Or our favorite sports teams.
We can talk about our plans
For the summer
Ideas for vacations.

I do like the idea
Of accomplishing a goal
Which a 5 k does
Completing it together
Gives us something in common.
We can go home afterwards
And take a shower.
Ah! That can add an element.
To our being
Friends with benefits.

Ah It Is Blah A Poem

Ah it is blah it is
The feeling that is current
And unappealing.
Is it also revealing
Of a malaise
That needs treatment?
Doctors would give advice
And perhaps a prescription
But paying heed
And taking pills
Are not my forte
As both are hard
To swallow at times.
Not to mention
I fear the possible
Side effects.

I know others who exhibit
A similar dispirited view
Some have weapons
To fight through
Some just get outdoors
Soak up the sun
Some find other ways
To get their groove back
Like in the movie with Stella.

I know in my case
I have a bleak outlook
For the next few months
My summer is not going
To be anything special
As I have medical issues.
Their ensuing costs
Also a burden.

So when I say it is blah
I know too that it shall pass.
Something will lighten my mood
Something or someone
Will come along
I hope when they do
To their message
I am receptive.
I will look forward to that.

Ultimatums. A Poem

So you think you have
Something I want
Granted I need it
But it really depends
On who is giving it.

Are you sure
Of yourself
To the point of
Having no doubts?
Should I bow down
To your ego?

I will think about
What you have to offer
If you put a deadline
If it has a date
That expires.
That usually makes
Me shudder
And I will say no
Just as a course
For I am not a woman
Who only does
As she is told.
I will buck at such
Ultimatums.
Fair warning.
Treat me with kid gloves
That honey idea
Instead of vinegar
Is the better choice.

Did He Look For Me? A Poem

He might have looked for me
But he left no note
That I could see
So I could not tell
With certainty
And could only go
On instinct.

Coming toward me
Coming this far
Only to make the trip
Useless and a total bust
By not telling me
Where you are
I am not omniscient
I am not a mind reader
I am just a woman
With a woman's heart.

Perhaps it is best after all
That he kept silent
Did not let known his presence
What good would it do me
To have a hesitant man
Who could not take charge?
I am not the one
To normally make the first move
I am decidely one to
Follow through
Once an overture was put
Into motion.
Should I change my way of things
Be assertive
Be aggressive
How to tell if the man
Is worth it?
Perhaps now that
I think of it
This is probably his
Matching mindset.

Quirky Connections. A Poem

It works that way sometimes
Thoughts will appear
And folks associated with them
Come along shortly afterwards.
Dare I say it is
Like I am psychic?

Tonight he mentioned
A few times he had
Been a soldier
And still had
A soldier's mindset.
How bizarre that yesterday
I had soldiers present
And featuring prominent
In some poems I wrote?

Perhaps my mind
Should be studied
For it's wavelengths?
For the coincidences
Are adding up
I wonder sometimes
Before I knew the meaning
Of the name
I wanted mine to be changed
To Cassandra?
Ha! I am only slightly joking.

If indeed I can foretell
The future
It is quite sporadic
And cannot be harnessed
For financial gain
Or picking the winning
Lottery numbers.
What use is it then
But to make me wonder
Adding fuel to the fire
That could become madness
If dwelled upon ad nauseam?

I will take the quirks
As bullet points
Things I may pay
Attention to
Give the connections
Their due
Diligence and gratitude.

Becoming An Understanding Friend. A Poem

You said you were a fan
And yet you rarely appeared
How can I believe you?
How can I take you
At your word?

A fan is suspect
If they do not
Keep abreast
Of happenings.

All you have to do
Is read my blog
To know how
I am doing
And leave a comment.

Yes please why don't
You do this?
I gather you are busy
But can you not
Spare a few moments?
Let me know
That you are honest
In your regard
A fan may be too much
To ask
So how about becoming
An understanding friend?
I think that description
Might over time
Need definition.
As I would become a part
That is reciprocating.

Farewell To Arm's Length. A Poem

I held him at arm's length.
It was a safer distance.
Any closer and I might
Lose all resistance.

Yes, that could happen.
I could close the gap
Let him move closer
Inch by inch
Until our eyes
Then our lips met.

What would come next?
If history is any indication
I could quiver
In various places.
My legs could weaken
My knees could buckle
I could end up a heap
Of arousal and emotion.

At arms soldier!
I must be stalwart
In my outlook!
Weakness is for losers!
But sometimes getting lost
Is the biggest comfort
And leads to unexpected
Adventures
And treasures!
Farewell to arm's lengths
This soldier now
Has a less civil job
As she pursues pleasures!
